Stink

I feel I need to apologize for not posting. The truth is I have been going like stink to try to get our house in order …and then I feel like we can resume our normal routine…well sort of normal.

It is going OK.

Does not sound SO very positive, but yeah, ok. I am sort of oscillating between delirium and happiness that we are all here and are in the very beginnings of settling into a routine as a family together as we have all been so all over the place for quite a while plus I do really like it here so far, feeling overwhelmed at the amount I STILL have to do before some level of normalcy returns, all mixed in with some impatience, the feeling of being a little displaced and a pressing desire for a very good day at the spa. If I could only find one and sorry to come off sounding princess-y, but yeah a good day at the spa would really help once all the cr*p is put away of course…my toes are whining for a pedicure, my fingers are on their 5th set of cracks and hangnails, and my skin, well…let’s just say me and the shark from “Finding Nemo” have a little more in common than we once did…

We are on the last string of unpacking boxes so indeed I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. It did for a while there feel as though it was never going to end. Moving really does s*ck though, Nomad and all…

*Whine, whine whine….*

I don’t know if it is just me, but I have this great need for organization, and if my “stuff” is everywhere, I have a difficult time functioning , let alone taking care of my kids. Then of course once the boxes are all away I begin to see the little bits of grime left over from the last tenants…yes I think the term obsessive compulsive comes into play here and indeed this living with someone else’s gunk is truly the territory of the renter. Though the house was professionally cleaned and they did do a fair and good job of it, once you find a thriving colony of mold growing on someone else’s old dead skin cells it can sort of tend to run away from you…*ack*
(Muttering to myself …where was that old toothbrush and I need some bleach…BLEACH!!!)

So yes we are sort of in between everything right now, still need to get TV set up, have bank cards but no Visa yet, still some outstanding stuff to do in the house, the kids seem to be doing well at the new school, and OH YES, there is the issue of developing a social life…

Much to do…

I tend to have an urge to throw stuff out rather than organize it...much the same thing.

There is no point in telling someone, "just take your time," when it comes to unpacking and getting organized. So I won't. (I would be the same way.)
You just have to go, go, go 'til it's all done - and then you can relax, collapse, etc.

Find that spa!!

I HATE moving. Hate it. It drives me nuts. I feel your pain. *shudder*

But you are way faster at unpacking than I am.

I'm going to answer all of those questions you left on my blog soon, but for now, Nomad, I've tagged you. And I look forward to reading the answers.

I've moved more times than I can count and it's always the same. You just can't feel "home" until you're settled. So go to town and then you can relax all you want when it's done;)))
