Back to the weekend before we left Dijon...

We had a party this weekend with just a few of our and friends and their families…It gave me great joy and satisfaction to have us all together, the kids running and laughing, the grown ups eating and drinking, much merriment was had (a little TOO much in my case…oooh my aching head and swirling tummy…). We had a wonderful send off and I am so glad that we took the time to get it together. It was great to reminisce about all the fun things we have done over the last almost 3 years…. I can’t believe it, it has gone by so quickly and so much has happened …imagine Lily was only 11 months when we moved here…

Almost all of our mother’s group in Dijon is leaving within the next several months, making it a little bit sad perhaps for the one or two who will remain, but I think the thread of the group is strong and will continue picking up new members. Such a wonderful sisterhood being a mother…*sigh* and now I am entering the phase where socializing with the kids is not so practical since they will be at school almost full time…hmmm...I will have to put on my scheming shoes...oops WAIT…I am ALWAYS wearing them anyway...Let’s see…uuuhh…dinner club, book club…

Maybe a COOKING CLUB???

So today we are in Paris for the night while TBG stays at “home” (well what was home anyway…*sigh*…*pause*…*STRESS*) with all the boxes and the movers and we will travel to Canada for a week or so. It will be so nice to see our friends and family. Our very kind friends have offered us the use of their home while they vacation, so we will get to catch up with every one there and I will get to go and work in my garden as much as I can…

I’m a little nutty that way.

Then back to Germany to unpack and get started afresh in a neighborhood I have not yet visited, to a house I have not yet been in, to meet people we do not yet know, and to discover sights and pleasures as of yet unseen and experienced…perhaps the VERY definition of Nomad after all.

I can’t wait!!

Actually, that sounds like a blast. Stressful, yes, and annoying at times, but fun.

The time to breathe is here, eh? Big inhale and exhale before you start up again. Goodbyes are always hard...it sounds strange, but it is a shame we have to say goodbye at the end, it is what you tend to end up remembering. Have fun in Canada.

wow, I can't believe you're done in Dijon!
Safe travels to canada, call me when you're there and if you have a free minute.

Golly you are living up to your name.

You could start a cooking/dinner club you know...and impart some of the wisdom you picked up in French cooking school.

Looking forward to catching up :)

You have an incredible spirit of adventure - serves you well in your "nomadic" life.
Meeting other moms through the school your kids attend is a great option - a little volunteering = lots of new friends.

Sounds like you will have a ball. And didn't you meet up with Trish for dinner and drinks? Or was it someone else? Either way, how cool to meet up with fellow bloggers. There are a lot of bloggers I'd love to meet someday. Including you;))
